Introduction to the Setup Wizard
What is the Setup Wizard?
The Setup Wizard is a step-by-step guide that helps you set up PreBook after activation. It consists of four key steps:
- Select Your Use Case: Choose between Business or Individual to customize the setup.
- Enter Business or Personal Info: Add details to define your profile.
- Set Business Hours or Availability: Specify working hours and scheduling preferences.
- Customize Brand Identity: Add your logo or profile photo, fonts, and colors to match your style.
By following these steps, you can ensure your booking system is set up efficiently without any technical complexities.
How to Access the Setup Wizard?
The Setup Wizard launches automatically when you first activate PreBook. If you need to access it later, look for a notice on your WordPress dashboard that says:
PreBook is not ready yet. Please Finish Setup.
Click the Finish Setup button to initiate the setup process.
Selecting Your Use Case: Business vs. Individual
The first step is to select how you’ll use PreBook—Business or Individual. Your choice will shape the rest of the setup.
Business Use Case
Choose Business if you’re setting up PreBook for a company or organization. This option is ideal for:
- Salons, spas, and clinics.
- Fitness studios and gyms.
- Legal firms and consultants.
- Automotive services and more.
Personal Use Case
Select Individual if you’re setting up PreBook for personal use. This option is perfect for:
- Freelancers and coaches.
- Consultants and tutors.
- Photographers and creatives.
Entering BusinessPersonal Information
Next, you’ll need to provide details based on your selected use case. The fields vary depending on whether you choose Business or Individual, but all help personalize your booking system.
Adding Business Information
Set up your business profile with these fields:
Left Side – Input Fields:
- What’s your business name?: Enter your company or organization name.
- What’s your business type?: Select the category that best describes your business.
- Tell us a bit about your business (Optional): Add a short description that will appear on your booking form.
- Your business email: Your WordPress admin email is pre-filled—use it or enter a different one.
- Your contact number (Optional): Add a phone number for customer inquiries.
Right Side – Preview:
A preview panel displays how your business name and description will appear on the booking form.
Action Buttons:
- Back: Return to the previous step.
- Continue: Save and proceed to the next step.
Adding Personal Information
Set up your individual profile with these fields:
Left Side – Input Fields:
- What’s your name?: Enter your first and last name (e.g., “Gray Matter”).
- What do you want to display on the booking page?: Choose how you’ll appear to customers.
- What type of service do you offer?: Select your service category.
- Tell us a bit about yourself (Optional): A short introduction displayed on the booking form.
- Your email: Your WordPress admin email is pre-filled—use it or enter a different one.
- Your contact number (Optional): Add a phone number for customer inquiries.
Right Side – Preview:
Displays how your details will appear on the booking form.
Action Buttons:
- Back: Return to the previous step.
- Continue: Save and proceed to the next step.
Set Business Hours or Personal Availability
Business Hours Setup
Define when customers can book appointments with you. This step is similar for both use cases, with minor naming differences.
Left Side – Input Fields:
- Set your working hours to let clients know when you’re available: Toggle switches for each day (e.g., Monday to Friday). Set start and end times (e.g., 8:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
- Weekend availability: Toggle days like Saturday and Sunday to mark them as unavailable.
- Breaks: Add multiple time segments to create breaks. For example, for a break from 3 PM – 4 PM:
- Click the + icon to add a segment
- Set the first period (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
- Set the second period (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM).
- PreBook automatically calculates the break.
- Default service duration: Select from the dropdown (default is 30 minutes)
- Choose your currency: Select from the dropdown (default is USD – $)
Right Side – Preview:
See a preview of available time slots based on your selected default service duration.
Action Buttons:
- Back: Return to the previous step.
- Continue: Save and proceed to the next step.
Setting Personal Availability
This follows the same process as Business Hours but is labeled as Personal Availability. Use the steps above to set your hours, breaks, default duration, and currency.
Customize Brand Identity
Make PreBook reflect your style with logos, fonts, and colors. Options vary slightly for Business and Individual users.
Business
Personalize your booking system’s appearance to match your brand:
Left Side – Input Fields:
- Upload your logo: Use the file uploader to add your full logo.
- Logo icon: Upload a smaller icon version of your logo (if you have one).
- Set your typography: Choose a font from the dropdown (default is Plus Jakarta Sans).
- Set your color:
- Brand Color: Pick your primary color using the color picker.
- Title Font: Select the color for headings.
- Subtitle Font: Choose the color for the subtitle.
Right Side – Preview:
See a real-time preview of how your branding changes affect the booking form’s appearance.
Action Buttons:

Individual
Personalize your booking system’s appearance for your individual profile:

Completing the Wizard
After finishing the Setup Wizard, PreBook creates a personalized booking environment for your use case. You’ll be redirected to the WordPress dashboard, where the Onboarding Widget will guide you to the next steps—adding staff (for businesses), creating a service, or fine-tuning settings.

Q: I don’t see the Setup Wizard after activating PreBook. What should I do?
A:
- Ensure that the PreBook plugin is activated in your WordPress dashboard.
- Look for the WordPress Dashboard Notice:
PreBook is not ready yet. Please Finish Setup
- If the notice doesn’t appear, try deactivating and reactivating the plugin.
Q: Can I change this info later?
A: Yes! You can modify your Business/Personal Information and Business Hours anytime in the PreBook Dashboard > Settings.
